Monday 5/1
WOW! Almost half way through this year. Where
has it all gone?? Kids have about one month left
of school.
It's been sort of an interesting time with Kenn lately.
Last Wednesday afternoon he started neurostorming
and continured into early Thursday morning, then
he stopped. One of his nurses called me early
Thursday morning about 3A.M. to let me know he had a
temperature over 100 degrees. She hated to wake me up
but told me she wanted to let me know in case they
had to send him to the hospital. Which they didn't
need to. I'm thankful for that. They had called the
doctor to see what to do and were told to start him on
some medicine later in the morning and also to do some
blood work. By the time I got there late Thursday
afternoon they had put him on oxygen because his oxygen
level had dropped. On Thursday morning he vomitted
two times. I tend to think the vomitting was a side
affect from all the medicine for his neurostorming.
They held his afternoon feeding but gave him his meds
and some water. When I was there he was so tired
he just slept most of the time. He had a good day on
Friday. On Sunday morning again, he was neurostorming
so they didn't get him up because his legs were so stiff.
He was dozing off and on. They took off his oxygen for
now. He had a low grade temp so something is going on.
There's some kind of infection some where. Sunday night
when I called to see how he was doing, the nurse said he
seems to be doing good, with just a low grade temp. I
tend to think him not feeling good is why he's been
neurostorming just this last week and weekend. Sunday
night Jeremy, our oldest son, took me to hear Tony Benett
at the Overture Center for my birthday and Mother's Day.
What a performance! He's 80 years old but still has a
tremendous voice. It was fun. The Overture Center is
quite a place to see.
