The speech therapist has set up an email address at
Clearview for Kenn. She will check his email with him
at least once a week.

Anyone can send him pictures, jokes or just a message
to be read to him. It is kenn@kenn-info.org

Talk to him about motorcycles and rides,
camping or even hiking. Make sure you put your
first name and last so that when she reads it she
can tell him.

If you want to explain how you know
him that would be great. Thanks.

5/22/07
Last night I went to the Brain Injury Support Meeting and it was like a shot in the arm for me.
I really enjoyed it. The ones that showed up sat talking about how the experience has been for
them as a person having a brain injury or a family memeber of one. There was a man there who's name is Bob. His accident was 10 years ago and he told how he didn't walk until 4 years ago. He had been told by the doctors that he would never walk again and when he left the Brain Injury Center he needed 24/7 care. He' taken the written driver's test and the behind the wheel test, which he has passed. He now can drive, works at Wal-Mart, owns his home and lives by himself. He told me to keep fighting for Kenn. He told us that after a brain injury it's like going back to school to learn things again, but he said you need therapy too and not just range of motion like Kenn is getting. He told how there isn't enough studies done to prove how people with brain injuries recover. He also said things continue to change after having a brain injury and people who haven't had contact with anyone with this kind of injury just want to give up on the people and say they don't need therapy because they will never recover, but most do recover to some extent. I was also asked to tell about my dance lessons that I've been doing.
Listening to others there was inspiring for me. After the meeting I went across the street to see
Kenn. I took him outside and read to him from the magazine called, "Postive Living." He seemed to be listening to some of it and he looked at my red shirt I was wearing when I talked
to him about it. I also talked to Kenn's previous case worker and was encouraged. I came
home on a cloud.
