Wednesday, August 24 update

Wednesday, 8/24
The nurses and therapists at Clearview have
not heard Kenn make as much noise or talk this
week as he did last week. The speech therapist
wanted to see if he would talk to me when she
could witness it. I took my daycare baby this
morning and we went to Juneau to see if he would
try talking to me again. He seemed extra tired
this morning for some reason. He just made a few
noises in his throat. He didn't focus on me
as much as on Sunday afternoon. But you know what,
it's fine if he doesn't talk for awhile because now
I know he can.
Today in his speech session he had a small piece of
ice chip put on his lip more than once. He
used to use his lip or tongue to get if off. He was
being very stubborn and clenching his teeth together
so the therapist couldn't put anything in his mouth
to see if he would react.
His cast is off his left arm and he has a soft cast
they put on it about every 2 hours. He still
has both casts of his feet. They hope to be able to
put them back on soon.
