Sunday, June 5 Update
has a rather dramatic posterior clavicle fracture
dislocation at the AC joint. This certainly appears to
be rigidly fixed and much of the soft tissues have begun
to ossify.
Right now the orthopedic doctor from Beaver Dam says surgery
now would not be advisable because of all he has gone through.
He wants to observe it. It might become more of a problem
when he starts moving it more. They are considering giving
him an injection of botox to relax the right side becasue of
it being so tight. The speech therapist wrote that on 6/2,
Kenn had apparentlly been "neurostorming" and was very sweaty,
tired and seemed especially sensitive to cold stimulation in
his mouth (jolting to the touch).
Sometimes when I visit Kenn he seems far away and then he
seems to come back to what is going on at the present.
Sometimes he responds more than other times.
He does focus on watching TV at times which the nurses
have seen. On this Tues. morning, he has a doctor's
appointment with the orthopedic doctor and then I
have a staff meeting in the afternoo. On Fri. afternoon,
he is seen by the doctor who checks patients at Clearview
once a month.
